We are a church and a community organization. Community members founded South Sudan Lutheran almost a decade ago as a way to build relationships and share services and resources within our community and other communities in the area.
We have 10 board members who set the organization’s vision and mission and strategic goals.
The mission of South Sudan Lutheran is to be a life-changing community where everyone can encounter reminders of God’s love and move forward together in our home of Fargo-Moorhead. We support each other to ensure that everyone has what they need to learn and thrive. This is a community where people who have experienced emptiness, war zones, confusion and misery can know healing, fulfillment, joy, love and faith.
Within our organization, we strive to create a culture of learning so our community can keep up with the demands of our 21st century educational system and economy.
We strive to connect families with economic opportunities and provide options for learning and development to stabilize our community.
Activities facilitated by our organization include afterschool programming, English language learning, job training, personal financial workshops, Dinka language and cultural programs.
